The SpyCase XCL™

The core of the Smogmobile 2000™ experience is the SpyCase XCL™, which contains the latest in state-of-the-art audio/video equipment.

Aiwa HS-JS135 Stereo Cassette Recorder

The heart of the SpyCase XCL™, the Aiwa HS-JS135 Stereo Cassette Recorder records all of the stimulating conversation that takes place in the Smogmobile 2000™.

Radio Shack 4 Channel Stereo Microphone Mixer

This unique product from Radio Shack (purchased at a discount) allows up to four people to contribute to a recording. By adjusting the levels appropriately, the listener can be placed anywhere in the car. It's like you're sitting right there on the Smogmobile 2000™'s (semi-functional) emergency brake.

Sony ECM-T7 Tie-clip Microphone (4)

The Sony ECM-T7 Tie-clip Microphones offer high-fidelity audio reproduction of the Smogmobile 2000™'s environment, down to the quietest sniffle. You won't have to struggle to hear voices over the scream of the Smogmobile 2000™'s failing CV boots. Now you can be driven insane by Rob's incessant snorting!

Aiwa (or possibly 99¢ Only Store) Headphones

The only way one can tell the difference is that the 99¢ Only Store model begins dissolving immediately upon being placed on the head. (The Aiwa phones came bundled with the recorder.)

Mini Maglite (AAA)

A leftover from Paul's aborted attempt to add an illuminated disco ball to the car, the Mini Maglite has turned out to be an invaluable aid when attempting to untangle the meters of wiring now in the Spycase XCL™.

The Spycam I

Olympus Camera

Now superseded by the Kodak DC-120 digital camera, the original spycam was intended to augment the recordings whenever necessary.
