“Good afternoon, Mr. Sellers.
“The piano you see here is owned by a Mr. Paul Bunch, a noted collector of worthless artifacts. As part of the conditions for the liquidation of the now-defunct Smogmobile Research Laboratories, this piano was to be removed from the premises. Mr. Bunch has failed to complete his part of the bargain, endangering the fragile peace that this treaty has established. Unless the piano is removed immediately, the balance of power may irreversibly shift against us.
“Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to remove that piano from the house. You will only have one hour to complete your task. As usual, if any of your team is caught or killed, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
“Good luck, Jas.”
Paul sold his house to his ex-girlfriend to avoid foreclosure. The details are involved, convoluted, and only fully understood by those directly involved. As part of the arrangement of transfer of ownership, Sasha allowed Paul to rent a room in the house provided he removes all of the crap he has accumulated.
This junk includes an upright piano that would cost more to repair than it was originally worth. Typical of Bunch, he procrastinated on getting rid of it to the point where Sasha was ready to call the whole thing off. One day, when Paul was indisposed, Jason came in—sledgehammer in one hand, power saw in the other—to get rid of the piano.
The piano was gone within the hour.
This is the photographic log of the disposal of an upright piano. The photos were taken approximately 30 seconds apart. Some of the cleanup was left for Paul.
