August 18:
Heritage Park, Santa Fe Springs

[FISH!] The snake basket fountain is one of the pieces in the statuary garden of Heritage Park, a collection of tiny islands of green within the corporate ocean that engulfs Telegraph Road.

While seeing the fountain was our primary goal, the other exhibits were also fun to explore. The whole park is quiet, natural, inviting; the perfect place for a corporate executive to break away from it all and rejuvenate for a half-hour at lunch-time.

Paul gives up his job at Verizon and joins an oil derrick crew.

This charming pond is probably the most passive of all the water sculptures in the garden, yet it still burbles refreshingly.

Colorful fish sculptures (if you can call painted metal “sculpture”) frolic in the shallow end of the pond.

The most amusing exhibit of all was completely unintentional: this large plaque could be seen at every entrance to the park. Do not break the rules: Big Brother is Watching You.
