The Wabe → The Roadtrip → The Roadtrip Reports → Year 3 → Roadtrip Report: 16 August 1998
Most of the other interesting photos of this day ended up in the gallery.
Just for the curious, this is where Paul works, bringing the wonderful world of phone book advertising to your door.
Rob forgot to turn off the tape recorder the night before, so we needed fresh batteries. On the way, we photographed this announcement for a Beanie Baby sale. People showed their contempt for media-manufactured crazes by gleefully driving over the sign.
We did notice that the house next door to the guy who does Jesus at the North Pole (a Herculean montage of religious and secular decorations, enough for five houses) was up for sale. He probably wanted to be out of there before December. Pity the new owners...
Paul now lugs around the entire Time-Life Science Library in his trunk. Why? Well, why not?
Later, after we picked up Jason and drove around for a few hours, we came across this police roadblock. We weren't sure what they were investigating: it must have been serious, because there were at least fifteen cars at the scene.
