Paul and Rob picked up Jason and Dan later that evening. Our original plan was to go to IHOP, but the restaurant was closing by the time we arrived. We ended up going to Coco's or Carrow's or some other chain restaurant that begins with "C." While we ate, we recorded the conversation, along with some commentary from our waiter.
Which brings us back to the question on everybody's mind: Just when will Paul get off his fat lazy ass and start digitizing the tapes?
It was around one-thirty when we decided to call it a night. Paul insisted on getting burritos first.
It was there that we first noticed a white cloud coming from under the hood!
Yes, the Smogmobile 2000™ was overheating. We pulled into the parking lot. Paul tried to get assistance from other patrons of Taco Bell, but it was in vain. Obviously they hadn't gotten caught up in the passions and comradery of the Gordita Revoulution.
As we watched the steam pour out of the overflow tank, we listened to Communists argue over ham radio. (I am not making this up. We were that bored.)
Eventually, the car cooled to the point where Paul could fill the radiator with water, generously donated by the workers in Taco Bell.
Since the Smogmobile 2000™ had been waylaid by this disaster, Sunday was pretty much a wash. Rob nearly electrocuted himself installing a light fixture, and we played more Password.
