Paul and Rob were supposed to meet Dan at Fry's Electronics or Ken Crane's or somewhere equally dull. Instead, we opted to visit the El Dorado Park Duck Pond.
The El Dorado Duck Pond has a lot of ducks. You are not supposed to feed them, but everybody does so there is a bit of a population explosion.
Here are some more photos of ducks.
The ducks have a pretty strong opinion about the park's "No Fishing" policy.
Here it is, the infamous Duck Island; and here's a closeup of the duck house.
Back in eighth grade, Rob wrote a computer game for the Apple ][ called Escape from Duck Island. It was a bizarre mixture of Escape from New York and The Prisoner. You played a duck trying to get out of the maximum security prison on Duck Island and there were a series of puzzles you needed to navigate. Looking back, one has to wonder what chemicals they were putting into the school's drinking water...
There was a rap concert being performed in the park. Paul and Rob, being excessively White, were unable to enjoy the music.
Note that the police have cordoned off the area with yellow tape. Just the thing to help bridge ethnic barriers. Sigh.
Paul needed to procure more research funds so that the Smogmobile 2000™ could stay in operation.
Look! Up on the sign! It's a bird! It's an ad! It's FUELMAN, defender of Life, Liberty, and High Oil Prices!
But wait! Fuelman's arch nemesis, Out-of-Fuel-man, has struck, leaving the pumps dry! What does one do? Well, we don't know about you, but we drove across the street.
We hate people too, but we don't sport a bumper sticker announcing that fact to the world. (Ours gives the URL to this site.) Just who is Brenda, and why does she deserve a bloodstained bumper sticker?
Nothing special, just an antique truck in very nice condition.
