How was your return flight? How is Katrina doing?

Guess what. I sorta made a stab at “cleaning” the Smogmobile this morning. (I’ve taken a half-day off from work.) I removed the coins, batteries, paper clips and various other scraps from the floor of the car (except for behind the driver’s seat, I didn’t have all day), and applied a vacuum cleaner to it for a good fifteen minutes or more.

Of course, this is just a preliminary step, since there’s much more to do: dusting, scrubbing, removing shards of glass, etc. Also, the “cash register” will doubtless continue to fill back up. But at least the year or two of sediment (sand, hair, crumbs, and dust) is at a low level.

I’m about to clean off the bird dropping that graced the car during this weekend.
