Getting ready for IFComp 2004; almost forgot to post this. Expect similar flakiness throughout October.
Welcome to “Elf Only Inn,” an internet chat room ruled by the authortarian and anal-retentive Lord Elf. Originally designed as a place for fantasy role-playing, it has degenerated into an out-of-channel circus of backbiting and cybersex. It’s a microcosm of the Internet.
The strip was originally designed to resemble the avatars (stolen from professional artists, naturally) that permeate chat boards; lately the author has hand-drawn each strip. The transition from cut-n-paste to illustration is not jaring, however.
So if you are willing to fight your way through the tentacle monsters, goths, FPS heros, otaku, and trekkies (not to mention the one and only Lord of Dorkness) you may be lucky and find yourself an elf.
