It is cold, smells of mold, and is unlit. The bed I am lying is is far from freshly made and I wonder why I am there in the first place. The room has one window looking out into a forest, opaque and ominous in the distance. Along the walls there is a bookshelf with lots of old books, an oval shaped mirror on the wall, and a desk with one lamp.
The forest is dark, dense, and very wet. The air is heavy with the smell of decaying leaves, sticks, and mushrooms. I can't see to far into the forest because it is very dense. All the trees tower up into a canopy I can barely see the sky through, although I can guess the sky would be overcast and grey.
The path is barely noticeable, it is behind the house and goes into one of the darker sections of the forest. It is very narrow, yet defined. The path is not well-traveled but not abandoned altogether. For some reason it seem that although hidden, convoluted, and narrow, someone has been on it before.
The water is a stream that is too large to wade across. The water is cold and almost crystal clear. I can see old leaves, a few rocks, and some tree roots along the bottom.
It is a wooden bucket that is still slightly full.
The key is old, made of silver that has been tarnished, and is on a very large key ring. It probably unlocks a tool shed or a very old door.
