I awaken in a livingroom. The furniture is well cared for, but old and frayed. The windows are partly open and a warm breeze is blowing the curtains slightly, as the light filters into the room.

The woods are turning color and it is the beginning of fall. A scatter of leaves carpets the ground and the trees are tall and vast enough that there is no brush, but the light comes through and I can easily see all around me.

The path I walk is visible, but not well traveled. It is a dirt path, partly obscured by fallen leaves, but easily followed. Had I been with someone else we would could have walked abreast.

Beside us is a creek. It is cool and clear and fast moving.

There is no cup so I use my hands to drink with.

As I continue, I see a glint of gold. As I bend down I realize it is a key. It is a skeleton key, quite old but well used as it is untarnished. I imagine it is for a house.
