It's a motel room. Queen bed, dresser, table, a couple night stands, one comfortable and two uncomfortable chairs. The curtain is drawn over a wide window. A framed still life poster is on the wall. The room is about two degrees cooler than one would like.
The trees are coniferous, perhaps pines, and appear to be closely set. They are perhaps fifteen or twenty feet tall at most, and the undergrowth is thick. It is a sunny day, but from outside the forest, it is unclear how much light will filter through
The path crosses a grassy field and enters the forest. It is narror, perhaps only a foot, but well-worn.
It's a small clear stream, flowing from right to left. It is perhaps three feet across and six inches deep at its deepest. The streambed is of sand and gravel. Small black insects scuttle about on the surface of the water.
It's a large, cheap cup made out of white plastic. At one time it bore the logo of the Detroit Lions, but the logo has now mostly faded.
The key is imbedded in the dirt of the path and is only partially visible. The blade is buried. The handle is round, brass colored, and perhaps the size of a thumbnail. "Best Do-It" can be read on the handle. It could perhaps be a cash box key.
