The room is just a notch above chilly. There's lots of paisley in dark reds, greens, purples, blues. The bed that I'm in is extremely cozy with a thick down comforter on it.
The forest has a mix of deciduous trees and conifers. They grow thickly, but not too thickly to prevent dappled sunlight from striking the forest floor.
The path is paved with asphalt, and winds gently into the forest. It's wide enough for three people to walk abreast.
The path opens onto a gravel beach next to a wide river, gently flowing river. The water is clear and inviting-looking.
A large glass goblet stands next to the path. Its swirling colors match the room in which I woke up - dark reds, greens, purples, blues - yet it seems to glow with an internal light as well as catching the sunlight.
The key is a schlage, and it looks as if it's been sitting on the path for a while. I think it unlocks a door.
