not very dense; speckled sun. tall mature hardwood trees with sunlight filtering through the canopy. largely clear forest floor, with some low brush and flowering plants and clearly worn walking trails. trail leads to a small wooden bridges on stone pilings, crossing a small cheerful brook. in the distance, the brook widens to a slower-moving stream as it crosses a large clearing. feels like early morning in mid-autumn; trees are starting to change color. cool air.
path is easily navigated, but wanders around. narrow, well-worn but it requires clambering over boulders and navigating through some tighter passages here and there. clearly marked. very lightly traveled, but well-maintained.
a stream, about 10-15' wide. moving fairly quickly, but not very deep; a few feet near the banks, perhaps 5-6' deep in the center. small fish (trout, etc.) swim in it. clear water.
substantial, hand-made glazed earthen cup. not a mug (no handle). light earthy color outside, glazed terra-cotta color inside. beautiful, well-balanced.
old but not corroded. heavy brass key. looks like it opens an old door or chest.
