This is how you described the room:
The room is warm and cozy. I feel safe. The room has a green sofa and loveseat, along with a coffee table and a kitchenette. There are blinds on the windows that are partially closed. The view of the outside shows plentiful trees and shrubs.
The initial room is the subject’s childhood. What interests us here is the general atmosphere of the room, in addition to the level of furnishings described by the subject. Note the extremely inviting surroundings of the room. This suggests a childhood filled with joy. The depth of description tells us that the subject has strong memories of childhood.
You wanted to stay in the room.
The subject did not want to grow up.
This is how you described the forest:
This is a forest of palm trees and ferns. The vegetation is very lush, but not too overgrown. There are also small flowers tucked amongst the trees. The light is filtering down through the leaves, and presents a warm and calm atmosphere.
The forest is growing up, and the trees are those adults with whom the subject interacted at that time. Average-sized trees imply the normal influence adults have on a child: neither insignificant nor impressive. Average lighting tells us that the subject received enough attention from the adults to be guided but not oppressed.
This is how you described the path:
The path is visible, and just wide enough for one person. The path winds back and forth, so the end is not visible. The path also branches out in multiple directions, so you can choose your destination.
Adolescence is represented by the path through the forest. Poor visibility of the path tells us the subject was often confused by the changes brought on by adolescence. A narrow path suggests that the subject had limited options for emotional growth at this time. That the path is free of obstructions indicates that the subject had no problems during adolescence.
This is how you described the water:
The water is a nice stream, with the water flowing at a trickle. It is just the right size to put a kayak into, and head out for a day trip.
The water is the subject’s sexuality. What interests us here is the clarity of the water (representing attitude) and its movement (representing libido). Slow, gently moving water suggests a passive, restrained, calm sex drive. Clear water tells us that the subject has no issues regarding sex.
When you came to the water, you crossed it.
The subject is open to new sexual experiences.
This is how you described the cup:
The cup is a plastic covered container, such as one might use for coffee or soda. It is the kind that when the lid is flipped closed, the beverage will not spill out, even when the cup is tipped.
The vessel, or specifically the practicality of the vessel, is how the subject approaches marriage or bonding. A practical container indicates that the subject is pragmatic when it comes to questions of marriage.
You left the cup behind.
The subject is not interested in marriage.
This is how you described the key:
The key looks to be a room key, like from the hotel I was staying in. It is a plastic card key. I pick up the key and take it with me. If I find someone of authority, I will give them the key.
The key is the ideal career for the subject. What interests us here is how the key appears (representing how others view the career) and what it may open (representing the subject’s goals for the career). The specialized purpose of the key is interesting; however, its significance is dwarfed by the subject’s plan for the key. It seems that the subject expects the job to offer a complete escape from all responsibility. An ordinary-looking key suggests that the subject desires a nondescript career.
You avoided the bear.
In a crisis, the subject prefers the indirect, non-confrontational approach.
When you came to the wall, you jumped over it.
The wall represents death: by jumping over it, the subject not only acknowledges death but has come to accept its finality.
