The room is cozy and warm. There is a four poster bed with a blue and white Bedspread, a maple dresser with four drawers, and blue curtains. There is a photograph of a man with a mustache. The room is octagonal, and there is a lit fireplace on the west wall.
The trees are tall hemlocks, with an occasional sourwood, and rhododendrons with purple flowers. The floor of the forest is covered with pine needles. Small white flowers twinkle beside the path, a mockingbird produces a concert overhead.
The path slopes downward. The way is uneven, because of many rocks in the path. The path is about 18 inches wide, and although well-worn, is lined on each side with wildflowers and poison-ivy. Occasionally, a fallen log bars the way, but despite the small obstacles, the going is smooth.
There is a beautiful waterfall at the end of the path--falling with a rush of sound and accompanied by an ever-present rainbow. The water is clear and cold, and one can see rocks below. The water moves swiftly down the river in a rush of whitewater.
This cup is a gold goblet set with diamonds, rubies and emeralds, and bearing engravings of knights and ladies toasting each other and dancing. The stem is a spiral, the base weighted with gems.
The key is about 6 inches long, made of gold, and, like the goblet, encrusted with gems. It is shaped like an old fashioned gate-key. I am sure it opens a castle door, or unlocks the gate to some fairy land.
