It's the living room to a log cabin. A fireplace is in the north wall, still smoldering. There's a set of couches arranged around the fireplace, a coffee table, entertainment center, and a lot of rugs. It's very warm still.

It's a very thick forest of mixed deciduous and evergreen trees. The ground is covered in several seasons of fallen leaves as well as ferns and the like. It's vividly alive.

The path is clearly discernible, though it's broken by the occasional sapling or stone. It meanders rather than runs straight through. The deeper it goes, the more ancient the trees it runs past become.

It's a brook, shallow enough to wade in and home to insects and an occasional crawdad. It burbles and sputters as it cascades over rocks and around bends.

It's a Victorian door key, ancient and rusted. It was meant to unlock the door to the house of the explorer who dropped it here.
