It's an old farm house room with a feather bed, rusty pot bellied wood burning stove and hound dogs laying around. It's comfortable here and the smell of burning hickory is in the air. Although its cold otherwise, near the stove its warm.
The woods vary in thickness being mainly oaks and sycamores. It is winter and few leaves are left on the trees. A wind whispers thru the tree tops and it feels like the trees are praying or waiting patiently for something. I feel no fear here.
The path is narrow but easily seen in spite of the winter sky. It is a well worn cow path and easily followed.
The water is part of a crystal clear shallow creek. The deepest part of the creek is no more than chest deep and is wadeable. Fun to swim in. Fish, frogs and turtles can be caught here. The banks are a bit steep except where a road crossing cuts thru. Grape vines overhang the bank and can be swung on. The pebble creek bottom is easily seen.
Its a milk can of about thirty gallon capacity, old, dented and well used but in good shape. A ladle is there to dip out the clear cold well water.
Its a skeleton key, most likely it will unlock a door to the farmhouse, probably the kitchen. It's old and rusty but well worn and smooth. It is a good solid key.
