Old Ponderosa forest--spaced wide, soft ground, thick needle matting, a few shrubs here and there, lots of light.

The path is barely visible, the forest is wide open, there are many such paths through the flatland ponderosas-- in the rocky steeps the paths are more defined, dirt winding up, around and over rock.
